In a contribution to a new report from Pearson, Baker Dearing CEO Kate Ambrosi has stressed how highly young people value employability skills, work experience, and career pathways.

Her comment is part of the landmark fifth edition of the Pearson School & College Report: Foundations for the future that’s just launched.
Drawing on five years of data and the voices of 50,000+ students, educators and sector experts, the report reflects on trends, changes and building foundations for what’s next – from skills and future readiness to impact-focused tech-enabled learning.
Kate’s comment, on page 62 of the report, reads: “Young people clearly understand the importance of developing employability skills and want work experience opportunities and clearer pathways into work.”
To meet this demand, which is shared by employers, Baker Dearing has launched the Baker Award for Technical Education to celebrate students who develop employability. Nearly 600 young people have already achieved the Baker Award. It is also why we are developing UTC Sleeves, which deliver a high-quality, employer-led technical education pathway within a mainstream school.
