Staff take part in marketing and admissions CPD day

UTC staff and leaders from across the 44-strong network took part in a marketing and admissions CPD day at UTC Reading yesterday.

The day featured talks by experts from both within and without the network…

  • Global Academy Associate Principal Jonathan Jacob spoke about using artificial intelligence to streamline admissions processes.
  • Activate Learning Education Trust Head of Stakeholder Experience Nicola Tatum spoke about using trade shows to extend a UTC’s reach.
  • Lube Magazine Editor Lady Tina Reading Dip DigM MCIPR helped attendees understand how to pitch to trade publications.
  • UTC Portsmouth Principal James Doherty and Marketing Manager Louise Holdstock discussed how the school has recruited students so successfully.
  • SGS Berkeley Green UTC Principal Gareth Lister spoke about his experience of handling politician visits, after Rishi Sunak came to the UTC while he was Prime Minister.

Baker Dearing’s Events and Operations Manager Rosalind Kipps also facilitated some peer-to-peer support where attendees listed their strengths and areas where they need support, giving us an indication of how we can tune our support for marketing staff.
