Baker Dearing helped deliver on 30 April the MBacc Co-Design Workshop at UTC Media City, bringing together students, educators and employers to shape the new MBacc Award that recognises skills, experiences and pathways into future careers.
The MBacc and its programmes, as delivered by the Greater Manchester Combined Authority, give young people a clear line of sight to good jobs in Greater Manchester.

Through the workshop’s interactive activities, students worked directly with employers to test and refine the Award, ensuring it is meaningful, credible, and practical. Their ideas will directly influence the final design of the MBacc Award.
UTC Media City students were also commissioned to film and document the event, including by interviewing employers on a set.

Thank you to those education settings which attended, including Buile Hill Academy, Laurus Trust Cheadle Hulme High School, Heywood Academy, Samuel Laycock School, Thomas Ashton School, Newhouse Academy, UTC Media City, University Collegiate School, and Oldham College.
Thanks to the employers which attended: The Power of Events, AtkinsRéalis, Autotrader, GCHQ, Transport for Greater Manchester, Teleperfomance UK, and the Science and Industry Museum Group.
