Student winners named at UTC Creative and Digital Media Showcase

Creative and digital media students today had the opportunity to exhibit their excellent work and learn more about the sectors in which they wish to work at Baker Dearing’s UTC Creative and Digital Media Showcase.

Building on the success of previous years’ UTC Creative Media Showcases in London and Sheffield, this year the event was held at UTC @MediaCity and was competitive: Students submitted work to industry judges in the hopes of being named the best in their category.

The categories were film and animation, digital graphic design, and games design. The winners for each category are:

  • Film and animation: Xavier Carrion and Michael Shyu from UTC Media City; and Evie Athill from Elstree Screen Arts Academy.
  • Games design: Vincent O’Donnell, Elstree Screen Arts Academy; and Isaac Dowling and Aurore Banu, UTC Media City.
  • Graphic design: Dylan Prior, Global Academy; Jacob Kemp, Ron Dearing UTC.

Congratulations to all of the winners and thanks to the participating UTC and students that attended on the day and/or submitted work: Doncaster UTC, Elstree Screen Arts Academy, Brook Sixth Form and Academy, London Design and Engineering UTC, UTC Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park, Ron Dearing UTC, Mulberry UTC, Global Academy, and UTC @MediaCity. Thanks to UTC Media City for hosting as well!
